Artist Bio

Georgiana Ewing

A native Texan, Georgiana and her husband have recently made Minneapolis their home. A prolific painter, she works in oils and acrylics, doing landscapes, still lifes, and pet portraits. Her use of intense color communicates a sense of exhuberence, joy and humor. Her work has been in numerous shows around the country.

Statement from the Artist

Animals have always been an important part of my life. My family and I have rescued numerous cats and dogs throughout the years. For this reason, I love doing portraits of pets. Dogs, especially astonish me with their enthusiasm for life. They teach me about affection, loyalty, playfullness, and living in the moment. Painting the bulldog challenged and entertained me. I see her as a symbol of all the fortunate animals who now live happily at Home For Life. I've been thrilled to participate in this project.
