Artist Bio
Mary Schill
Mary became interested in the home for life project in 2008, designing “Gold Shack doghouse.” Her interest in this project grew from a love for art and animals. She has an adopted house cat named sassy that is love of her life. (pictured below) All of the paintings on the sculpture walls are dogs that have been near and dear to Mary over the years. Her other interest include stockcar racing, she was a NASCAR sanction weekly racer for 15 years racing at LaCrosse Speedway & Elko Speedway Mary was a former resident of Minneapolis and loves Minnesotas passion for art. She hopes to return to the area in the future where artistic culture and community are at its finest.
Statement from the Artist
This piece was inspired by the Minneapolis Institute of arts. The paintings on the walls and sculpture in the garden are original pieces by Mary Schill. Miss Schill is proprietor of Forte Design, an award winning design/web and photography studio, located at 320 11th St. N., Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54494. Winner of various Graphic Design USA competitions, button competitions, MMPA awards, photo competitions, and various other regional design awards. Mary has a bachelor of arts degree and a passion for creating in all mediums. She also completed 5 sculptures for the Peanuts on Parade in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sculptures titles, “Celestial Fantasy Snoopy”, “Memories Snoopy”, “Spread Your Wings and Fly Charlie Brown”, “Race Car Driver Charlie Brown”, and ”Learn How to Read doghouse. Mary did “Moosquito” Cow for the Kemps Cows exhibition on display at the Minnesota State Fair, and has other wood, metal, and plex glass modern art sculptures on display.
